An association of thirteen global banks publishing AML, sanctions and anti-bribery guidance that has become an industry baseline.
The Wolfsberg Group is a private-sector association of thirteen large global banks formed in 2000 at Schloss Wolfsberg, Switzerland. It develops detailed AML, KYC, sanctions and anti-bribery principles and questionnaires that the wider banking industry uses as a de-facto baseline — most prominently the Wolfsberg Correspondent Banking Due Diligence Questionnaire (CBDDQ), which is the standard reply form for correspondent-banking onboarding worldwide.
Wolfsberg principles do not have the force of law. They sit between the FATF Recommendations and individual national rules, and supervisors frequently treat them as evidence of "industry-standard" expectations during examinations. Banks reference them in correspondent onboarding, customer due diligence and sanctions-screening design.
Bucephalus' KYC, correspondent-banking and sanctions modules are aligned with Wolfsberg principles and CBDDQ data fields by default.
